About

Dino Destination is a search engine for ARK: Survival Ascended servers.

It is a way to find a server to play on. It is not itself a server, and there is nothing here to connect to.

What it does

ARK servers publish almost nothing useful about themselves. The server list carries a name, a map, a player count and little else - no rates, no tribe cap, no wipe policy. Owners write those into the server NAME instead, in whatever shorthand fits the 71 characters they are given.

So this site reads the names. It parses harvest, taming and breeding rates, tribe size caps, wipe policy, offline raid protection, mods and language out of the text, and turns them into filters you can search on. Nothing else in this space lets you do that, because nothing else tries to read the one field the information is actually in.

It also records how many people are playing on every indexed server, every few minutes, so you can sort by how busy somewhere usually is rather than by who happens to be online the second you looked.

What it is not

It is not a game server. There is no address to join, no cluster, no maps, no rates of its own, no characters to transfer.

It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Studio Wildcard or Snail Games. ARK: Survival Ascended is their game; this is an independent index of servers other people run.

It does not run, host or administer any of the servers it lists. If something is wrong on a server, the people to talk to are its owners.

Paying never moves a server up

Owners can support the site. What that buys is a decorated listing page, a card on the supporters page, and for the higher tier a slot in a marked-off column beside the results. It does not buy a position in them.

No search function on this site can read who has paid - the ordering code has no access to it, and a test fails the build if that stops being true. Every competitor in this space sells placement. Once money can move a row, the order stops being evidence of anything, and the order is the whole product.

Free for players and owners

Searching is free and needs no account.

For owners, claiming your cluster is free, and so is everything that improves the data: correcting a rate the parser read wrong, filling in what the character limit cut off, setting a wipe schedule, adding an avatar. That work makes the index better for everyone, so it is never behind a payment.

Paying changes how a listing LOOKS, never what it says or where it ranks.

Who built it

One person, working alone. I am Aaron, and I built this because I got tired of joining servers that turned out to be empty, or whose rates were not what the name implied.

There is no company behind it and no team. That is worth knowing when you are deciding how much to rely on it.

Getting in touch

The feedback button on any page reaches me directly, and is the fastest way to report something wrong with a listing.
